Vigil for Peace

It was a choice between Women of the Old Testament at Holy Family Church or a Prayer Vigil for Peace at St. James Episcopal. The latter seemed like a better choice... only because it seemed there was a bigger reason for it.

The first choice is a series of classes that I think I can quickly pick up what I've missed (hopefully) next week. My choice for the evening is to keep vigil for peace and healing in the world. (The Rev. Dr. Naim Ateek shared that throughout all of documented history, there were only 29 years or so without war!!) Furthermore, the prayer session is an ecumenical movement of the churches in South Pasadena. It is great to see the different denominational churches come united in prayer!

The seven churches present reverberated Christ's, "That they all may be one (Jn 17:21)." One small step, but one that breaks barriers and creates open dialog for the church of Christ!

Dear God, continue to speak to us, keep us close to You and remind us to be humble!
