<<<REWIND... So what happened?
Two evenings ago, I caught the 7:30pm screening of Fantasic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. At the end of the movie, when the lights were still down, I made my way down towards the exit. I must have looked up when there was this extra bit during the end credits and... !! I missed the last step and might have wished for the powers of elasticity and flight. Fortunately, I regained my balance before I could come crashing down... only that all 70kg was concentrated on my right foot on its side.
I was ready to YELP! As the sting reverberated up my leg (think of how Silver Surfer gets his powers), I managed to help myself to one of the front row seats. When the lights finally came on, I limped my way out of the cinema. Whether anyone saw what happened wasn't important. I just knew I had to get back home asap.
That night, as the swelling took its course, I was almost paralyzed! Even going to the loo from the upper deck of my double decker bed was most excruciating. Lesson learned: Never drink too much water half and hour before a movie begins, and bring a thicker jacket. But one can never know the temperature of cinemas! But that could be good info to have. New business idea?? ;p
I never knew how blessed I was until I reached the Chinese Sen-sei the following morning. They were closed but because of some renovations, two of the physicians were there and they attended to me. I skipped the whole hour long wait. After relocating my bones to its proper place and drawing more "stuff" out of my foot, I was able to perform its basic functions in five minutes. Interested and so impressed, I even asked the physicians how long school is for this field of study.
* Initially, I wanted to title this post Fantastic Fall, but I thought Seven years in Nanjing was more creative. ;p
