Down under Downunder


Down beneath the surface is Lake Cave. This is one of many caves around the Margaret River area. With the little time I had, I chose to go down this one because it still had a stream running through it. This means that when the stalactites and stalagmites were lit, a mirror image would be formed on the water surface. Simply gorgeous!

These stalactites and stalagmites are calcium salt deposits formed from dripping water from the roofs of these caves. Over a million years it took to sculpt this particular one. Another lesson to learn in patience! :O)
